Dana Point Historical Society Public Reading Of R.H. Dana’s “Two Years Before The Mast”
Dana Point Historical Society Public Reading of Two Years Before the Mast With a spectacular backdrop of Dana Point Harbor, the third public community reading of Dana’s Two Years Before The Mast will take place during the second weekend of the Festival of Whales, starting Friday afternoon from 1 PM – 4 PM at Waterfall Park in Dana Point Harbor (in the case of inclement weather the reading will move to the Nature Interpretive Center at the Headlands). A presentation of the Dana Point Historical Society, it is modeled on the public reading of Moby Dick, a highly successful venture of the New Bedford Whaling Museum in Massachusetts. Over one hundred volunteer readers will read for eight to ten minutes each, completing the entire book in about fifteen hours over the three days; Friday, March 7th, 1 PM – 4 PM; Saturday, March 8th, 9 AM – 5 PM Sunday, March 9th, 8 AM – 12 Noon.
