Lily, a Gray Whale Tribute with Special Presentation by Capt. Dave 8:30 to 9:30 AM – FREE tour/lecture/book signing on Captain Dave’s 62-foot luxury power catamaran, a state-of-the-art whale research, rescue, and whale watching vessel named Lily. Named after a gray whale horrifically wrapped in gill net that made national headlines when Capt. Dave and rescue team members disentangled her, Lily is a high tech whale rescue vessel that is also used for whale watching and research. Capt. Dave has made headlines with his whale rescue work including a visit on the Ellen Show and he will be discussing ongoing whale rescue and research that will be taking place on Lily.
