Dana Point Festival of Whales 2013 Whale WalkThere are multiple parking lots throughout the Festival.  Some of these lots fill earlier than others, but ALL lots are serviced by the FREE shuttle.

•  Park free for up to 4 hours in most Harbor lots.  Please remember, 4 hours maximum in these lots.  All parking lots are monitored by Orange County Sheriff’s Department so please do check your watch when you park and keep an eye on the time.

•  Park at Doheny State Park ALL day for only $8 and catch the FREE shuttle that services this area approximately every 15 minutes.  You can take in the brand new Whale Walk while you are there (see photos at right).

After a six-year absence, whales once again don the walkways of Doheny State Beach.

A California gray whale appeared in early January and was joined by orca and humpback whales shortly thereafter, as a dozen volunteers, with paintbrushes and rollers in hand, took to the pavement canvas to paint life-sized portraits of the marine mammals.

The project by the Doheny State Beach Interpretive Association—or DSBIA—is slated to paint five more whales—including minke, sperm and blue whales—and eight dolphin along the beachfront.

This is just part of the beauty you can experience when parking at Doheny State Park where the Festival’s FREE shuttle services the area approximately every 15 minutes. PARK and RIDE and migrate with the whales!
