Celebrate the wonder of whales all weekend long at Doheny State Beach with special interpretive programs designed for ocean lovers of all ages.

On Saturday evening from 6:30–7:30 PM, gather at Picnic Areas A & B for “Whales, Mighty Monarchs of the Sea,” an engaging presentation exploring the incredible migrations and fascinating lives of these gentle giants. Local marine expert Jim Serpa will share insights, stories, and knowledge that bring the magic of whales to life in an inspiring, family-friendly setting.

On Sunday from 3:00–5:00 PM, discover the interactive “Whale on Wheels” roving whale museum experience. Park interpretive staff will travel throughout the park with hands-on exhibits, fun whale facts, and engaging activities for all ages. Be sure to visit the Whale Walk along the boardwalk, featuring life-sized painted whales that celebrate the majestic species migrating past our shores.
